Trophies: milestones, not streaks

TrackShows now has a trophy case. Open the Profile tab and you will find five tracks: episodes watched, shows completed, movies watched, ratings and comments. Each one runs through five metals, bronze to silver, gold, platinum and diamond, with the diamond tiers set properly far away (10,000 episodes, anyone?). Every card shows the metal you hold and a progress bar to the next one, so where you are and what is next are both always in view.
Retroactive from day one
Trophies are computed from the watch history you already have, so there is nothing to opt into and no starting from zero. If you have watched 1,000 episodes, gold is already yours the first time you look. Anyone who imported a TV Time history should expect several metals immediately.
Milestones, not streaks
We thought hard about this one, because TrackShows has always been the tracker that does not nag. So here is the line we drew: trophies mark what you have watched, they never tell you to watch. That means no streaks, no dailies, no “come back tomorrow”, no pressure mechanics of any kind. A trophy for finishing a show is a nice moment. An app that guilt-trips you for skipping a Tuesday is not. The full list of what TrackShows deliberately leaves out is still on the features page.
One quiet notification
When you unlock a trophy you get a single push notification, and even a big import that unlocks several at once sends just one. They are covered by the same switch as episode alerts, now simply called Notifications in your Profile. Turn it off and trophies unlock silently, waiting for the next time you visit.
Trophies are live now in the web app, and the Android app picks them up in its next update.
