Only Murders in the Building season 6: UK release date and episodes
The trio are leaving New York for the first time in five seasons. Only Murders in the Building season 6 arrives on Disney+ in the UK on Tuesday 8 December 2026, the same day it lands on Hulu in the US, and this time the show is being sold under a slightly different name: Only Murders in London.
Disney confirmed the date on 25 August, so this one is settled. What it has not confirmed is every detail people are searching for, so here is what is known and what is only expected.
When does Only Murders in the Building season 6 come out?
Tuesday 8 December 2026. Disney’s UK press announcement names that date for Disney+ here, and Hulu carries it the same day in the US.
That is a clean break from the show’s habit. Earlier seasons have arrived between June and October, and the last one finished at the end of October 2025. A December start means thirteen months between finale and premiere, and that the bulk of the season will run into 2027 if it keeps the weekly pattern.
Where can I watch it in the UK?
Disney+. Every previous season is there too, which matters if you need to catch up before December. Disney’s announcement lists Disney+ from £5.99 a month.
How many episodes are in season 6?
Disney’s UK announcement does not give a number. Several guides report ten, and all five previous seasons ran to ten, so that is the sensible expectation. Treat it as likely rather than official until Disney’s own listing shows it.
Is it weekly or all at once?
Expect weekly. Reports point to new episodes on Tuesdays, which is how every previous season has worked, though Disney’s announcement does not set out the schedule. We would not plan around a finale date yet: no official one has been published.

What is season 6 about?
The trio head to London after the next victim turns up on their doorstep. It is Cinda Canning, the podcaster whose show started it all for them, played by Tina Fey. Her death pulls Charles, Oliver and Mabel across the Atlantic to catch her killer, in what Disney calls “the home of the cozy murder mystery”.
That is a neat bit of self-awareness. A series that has spent five years affectionately sending up true crime is now going to the country that invented the vicar, the village and the body in the library.
Who is in the cast?
Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez return. Disney’s special guest stars include Tina Fey, Olivia Colman, Meryl Streep, David Tennant, Nicola Coughlan and Martin Freeman.
TVLine’s running list of guests is longer and very British, and includes Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Richard Ayoade, Sharon Horgan, Jennifer Saunders, Jodie Whittaker, Derek Jacobi, Simone Ashley and Geri Halliwell-Horner. Character details are being kept quiet. If you are the sort of viewer who treats a guest star as a suspect, you are going to have a long list.
Do I need to rewatch anything first?
If you only have time for one thing, rewatch the end of season 5, because that is where this story starts. Otherwise, the show has always been easy to pick up. Fey’s Cinda Canning has been around since the first season, so a viewer who remembers her podcast will get more out of this than one who does not.
How to keep track of it
A weekly show that starts in December and runs over Christmas and New Year is the kind that quietly slips: you miss one on a busy night, then you are three behind, and somebody spoils who did it.
Follow it in TrackShows and turn on episode alerts, and each episode arrives as a notification on the day it lands. Your place in the season is kept for you, which is the whole point when the clues matter. There is more on how that works on the features page.
If you are filling out December, Pride and Prejudice and The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey both land on Netflix the same month.
