Yellowjackets season 4: release date and what is actually confirmed

The wilderness story ends this autumn. Paramount+ has set a date for the fourth and final season of Yellowjackets, and it lands on a Friday in late November. Here is what the streamer has actually confirmed, and, just as usefully, what has been widely reported but never officially stated.

When does Yellowjackets season 4 come out?

Season 4 premieres on Friday 20 November 2026 on Paramount+, exclusively with the Premium plan. Paramount+ announced it on 20 August 2026 and the date is stated on Paramount+’s own season 4 page, so the date itself is not in doubt.

That is a gap of roughly a year and nine months from season 3, which arrived in February 2025, and it moves the show out of its February slot and into the busiest fortnight of the streaming year.

What is confirmed, and what is not

Coverage of this one blurs the line badly, mostly because the press release is short and the gaps have been filled in by reporting. Worth separating.

Confirmed by Paramount+:

Reported, but not in the announcement:

That last group matters more than it looks. The press release says nothing at all about cadence, and season 3 opened with two episodes before going weekly. Until Paramount+ publishes a schedule, the only date you can plan around is 20 November.

What happens in the final season

The official line is compact and it gives away the shape of the ending: rescue is finally closing in on the teenagers in the wilderness, and the survivors’ long awaited salvation is exactly what threatens to expose what they did out there. In the present day timeline, an old flame comes home with an agenda.

After three seasons of the past and the present circling each other, the final season points both timelines at the same reckoning. The wilderness plot is no longer about surviving. It is about what gets buried before anyone finds them.

The structural change nobody has confirmed

The most interesting claim about season 4 is not the date. Co-creator Ashley Lyle has described a season built around individual characters, with episodes giving each of them their own story rather than cutting between timelines the way the show always has.

That is a real change to the format that made Yellowjackets what it is, and it came from interviews with the creators, not from a Paramount+ statement. Treat it as likely and well sourced rather than official, and expect the episode order to make a lot more sense once someone publishes it.

Where UK viewers watch it

Paramount+. All three existing seasons are there, so a rewatch before November is a one subscription job.

One honest caveat: the announcement is framed around the US Premium plan, and Paramount+ has not published a separate UK date for season 4. Precedent is good, because season 3 went out in the UK on the same day as the US, 14 February 2025, with the linear broadcast trailing a couple of days behind. A same day UK drop on 20 November is the sensible expectation, but it is an expectation, not a published date.

How not to miss an episode

This is the awkward one. A finale season with no announced schedule, a streaming date and a linear date two days apart, and a November release window stacked with everything else. If the show does something clever with its episode order, a weekly habit is not going to save you.

Follow Yellowjackets in TrackShows, switch on Episode alerts, and you get one push notification when an episode is genuinely available, whatever cadence Paramount+ lands on. No recommendations, no engagement bait, just the air date. There is more on the features page, and our guide to getting notified when new episodes air covers the alternatives.

Clear your 20 November, and then clear it again, because Percy Jackson season 3 premieres the very same day, and The Rings of Power season 3 has already been running for nine days by then. Late November is where the autumn schedule stops being manageable by memory.
